There are simply so many options when it comes to cargo cages. And while most are designed with bikepacking in mind, we like them as commuter equipment too.
Carrying a bike bag isn’t for everyone, and instead we have cargo cages. You will find your lunch, a pair of shoes & a change of clothes easily fit in your cages! It may seem crazy, but if you hate carrying on your back, it can be a great solution.
Cargo cages come in a few mounting methods, depending on your requirements. You will find that if you have mounting eyelets on your fork you have it easy! If on the other hand you don’t, you will need a clamp solution.
Clamping cages work just as well as cages mounted to your eyelets. Meaning you don’t need to feel limited by your bike’s features. In fact they will give you more options for placement.
Fitting cargo cages can take some finessing. You will need to ensure your knee & toes do not hit your cage or the contents when pedalling. The best way to do this is to loosely fit the cages and do a test ride before committing to the set up. Angling your cages forward without sending them into your spokes can be an art.
