Revelate Designs have been making great bikepacking gear for decades, and their expertise in this field is best shown in their seat pack designs.
Revelate give you the best of both worlds, making two different designs of seat bag. Both in large volume for maximising your space.
They have a functional take on the traditional seat bag which has a Velcro strap for the seat post & a mounting plate for ‘locking’ on to your saddle rails & reducing sway, in their Spinelock bag.
Revelate also make the modular system version of a seat bag, with the Terrapin System. Allowing you to remove the inner dry bag from the mounting shell. Which is great for quickly getting your gear off the bike when you are finally ready to call it a day.
Using the Spinelock is like using a modular handlebar system. Working on a similar principle, you are leaving a part on your bike & removing another. In this case you are leaving the locking plate on your saddle rails. And removing the bag by pulling a pin. The pin is locked in, as your saddle pack is locked in. So no stressing about it falling off! Once locked in by the pin, the Spinelock is rock solid on your bike.
It’s a favourite here at Abbotsford Cycles for just how solidly fit it is on your saddle. There’s no sway, and no worries. For such a huge capacity bag, it is stunningly steady!
Aren’t planning to live off your bike? Revelate Designs have a seat bag for everything. So rest assured they have you covered on your 2 hour post-work or weekend ‘get out of the house’ rides. The Revelate Shrew seat bag is built for big day rides. Carrying spare clothing & gear for the long haul with ease. As a roll-closure seat pack you can carry as little as you need or up to 2.25L worth of kit. A must have for a day trip or quick shred on the trails.
