The Botcho crew saw a problem, and they solved it. Finding places to run water bottles on those old steel frames is tricky. But they’re still simply the best bike for the job. So what to do ? Make dynamic mounts that let you take advantage of the few bosses you have!
The problem with our love of the 90s mountain bike, is that we don’t just use it to hit mountain bike trails for an hour. We use it to commute, to bikepack and to tour. And yup, it’s the best bike for the job. But it doesn’t come with a million mounting holes like modern gravel bikes and road bikes do. So you’re left with one set of bidon mounts on your downtube. Not enough for a multi-day ride we reckon.
Botched reckoned too, so they made the Dragonfly to sit flush on those mounts and create a base on either side of your tube to carry two bottles instead. With a thoughtful design the angle of the wings of the Dragonfly means you won’t be hitting your legs on your bottles. And if you’re running a wide Q-factor mountain bike, this was not likely to ruin your dreams anyway. You too can be hydrated on the ride.
