Abbotsford Cycles Single Speed Service is a reduced version of our Essential Service.
Single-geared bicycles don’t require the same adjustments to gears so we offer the Single Speed service at a reduced cost.
What do we do in a Single Speed Service?
- Clean and lubricate the chain
- Lube brake cables
- Adjust brakes
- True wheels in situ
- Grease front hub
- Clean braking surface of rims/rotors
- Scrub/face brake blocks
- Frame wipe down, clean dirt away from bearings
- Tighten mudguards, racks, lights, general fittings etc
- Inflate tyres
What do we check and advise upon?
- Inspect bike for potential problems ie frame/fork alignment
- Check for play in bottom bracket, head and rear hub bearings
- Check pedals for wear
- Inspect tyres for wear, cuts and glass
- Check both seatpost and headstem (quill) will move in frame and fork
- Advise on necessary upgrades or helpful accessories
- Advise of safety issues
What does it cost?
Single Speed Service is $110 inc. GST. Additional labour/parts are provided at an additional cost. Abbotsford Cycles will provide a quote prior to starting the work, usually when the bicycle is brought in. We will contact you for approval where additional costs more than $20 above quote are identified as the work proceeds.
How long will we need your bicycle?
Our booking system is based on completing the work and returning the bicycle to you by 5pm on the specified day.
If an unforeseen issue arises, we will alert you to the nature of the problem, propose solutions, and negotiate a new expected pickup time/day.
