Description
The Revelate Pronghorn bikepacking handlebar system is back baby!
Easily one of the most loved pieces of gear from Revelate, the Pronghorn has been unavailable for years. But now it’s back & better than ever.
Where does this bag fit in Revelate’s handlebar carrying range?
Well this Pronghorn is a harness with a removeable dry bag combination. Similar to combining the Revelate Harness standalone mount with the Revelate Salty Roll dry bag to make a complete handlebar carrying system. And in contrast with the Revelate Sweet Roll which is a combined bag & harness where you cannot remove the drybag from the mount. Another difference with the Pronghorn is that you have options in the size of dry bag you use.
Originally popularized for it’s lightweight materials & simplicity in design, this is a gravel racer’s best friend.
Using fibreglass in the construction of the ‘harness’ system & extremely lightweight material in the dry bag, this system is excellent. If you were ever concerned about the weight on your bars from previous set-ups, this is the solution. You won’t need to worry about a heavy carrying system bouncing around on your cables.
So what are the changes to the Pronghorn from it’s 2018 model? It’s in the dry bag. Previous iterations of the dry bag had a single opening, and now it’s a double ended sheath. Having two ends available to access your gear will make it easier to even-out the load. And of course will make it easier to organise your gear. Knowing which side you crammed something in to, and being able to access just that side is key!
The dry bag having roll closures means that you will need to remember to roll down 3 times to maintain your waterproofness. However is you are lucky enough to be riding in the blazing sun, your gear is secure with a single roll.
Just need the drybag? We have these as a stand-alone product here.

Here’s the advice from Revelate in regards to the dry bag sizing:
The rule of thumb is to keep a lighter load on your handlebars for better handling. The small / medium are best for ultra races in warm climates and multi-day singletrack trips. Bigger is not better; choose the smallest bag you can get away with. The small is for a dialled ultralight kit and racing. The medium is the most versatile size. The large is specifically designed for winter trips to fit a -20 down sleeping bag.
Disk or V Brake only – NOT compatible with Cantilever or road style front brakes with a vertical exposed cable.
Dimensions of a closed bag with 4 rolls at closure:
