Cable locks are a great solution for securing accessories to your bike. While we don’t recommend you use a cable lock for your bike, it is useful for securing your helmet.
The reason we offer cable locks is that we understand sometimes you just need a temporary solution. Maybe you will need to secure your bike to run in to the shop for 2 minutes. Maybe you want to secure your pram or kids bike at school.
These cable locks are a solution for short periods of time, in safer areas with low risk of theft.
It’s important to upgrade your lock to something sturdier than a cable or coil lock for leaving it for long periods. You will find that these simple wire locks don’t always count as locks when it comes to insurance! This is because insurance companies do not consider this sufficient. A sufficient lock is one which cannot be cut with hand tools. And unfortunately the nature of these locks makes them breakable with hand tools.
