Description
The Park Tool Master Link Pliers (MLP-1.2) will make quick work of removing & re-fitting your bike’s chain.
Most chains these days use what is called a master link or a quick link (or sometimes a ‘power link). These links will allow you to install & remove the chain without having to drive a rivet.
These pliers will allow you to fit & remove a chain as fast as a pit mechanic!
The jaws of the pliers are shaped to slot into the chain link & squeezing the handles opens the master link. Pulling the handles apart will close the link – it’s that easy.
Park Tool Master Link Pliers MLP-1.2 features & specs
- Compatible with 5-to-12-speed derailleur chains that use a master link, including SRAM eTap AXS and Shimano XTR 12-speed
NOTE: The MLP-1.2 will not remove or install the style of master links with both pins attached to one plate and a side plate or spring clip that clips onto the pins. These are commonly found on older drivetrain systems or single speed bicycles. To remove these types of master links, use a needle nose pliers.
For instructions on how to use these pliers, check out this PDF from Park Tool.
