The Ortlieb Back-Roller Free QL3.1 is a single Ortlieb pannier for a rear rack, for those who don’t carry enough gear to justify a pair of panniers.
The Back-Roller Free is a PVC free pannier that is nonetheless fully waterproof.
With a roll-top closure & shoulder strap & the minimalist mounting system by Ortlieb, the Quick Lock 3.1 system (QL3.1), there’s nothing else you need!
We love this pannier for those who are likely to need to carry their pannier far from their bike when they arrive at their destination. We are thinking EOT facilities. The Benefits of Ortlieb’s QL3.1 system are that it leaves a minimum of mounting hardware on the pannier itself. This results in less projecting hardware on your bag. So less things to catch on your clothes as you carry the pannier off-bike.
If you are likely to use your pannier as a shopping bag at the grocery store. And it is great for this since it is bucket-shaped – then this bag is ideal too.
