Description
Ergon GP3 Evo Grips – the new Generation of the iconic Barend Grip!
The GP3 has been one of Ergon’s most popular grips for many years – now there’s a new version with even better details! The new, rubberized bar end design ensures the best handling and high damping in all riding situations. The inclination of the integral 3-finger bar ends can be adjusted independently of the grip to meet your preferences and thus promotes active gripping to relieve strain on the hands, arms and shoulders. The GP3 Evo is the new benchmark in function, quality and production using certified pollutant-free rubber compounds.
The Ergon GP3 Evo grips with a 3-finger bar end provides a wide range of use, ranging from mountain bikes to fitness to touring bikes.
- Tested back-friendly
- No sore wrists
- No numb fingers
The bar end angle can be adjusted independently from the angle of the grip for the perfect personal fit. And the bar end doubles as a clamp to lock the grip in place and prevent movement while riding. Like all Ergon grips, the GP3’s eliminate numb hands, aching fingers, and tired forearms.
Nerve relief
When riding, your hands support a lot of your upper body weight on the handlebars, placing high pressure on a relatively small grip area. In many cases this pinches the extremely sensitive ulnar nerve that runs near the base of the palm near the pinky and close to the skin’s surface – often causing numbness. The wing grip increases the hand’s supporting area by distributing pressure over a wider surface and thereby preventing discomfort.
Ergonomic solution
If your wrist is bent too much for too long, nerves, tendons and blood vessels are compressed. The result is the carpal tunnel channel is constricted, which could damage the median nerve. Long rides and fatigue make it even harder for the rider to maintain a correct and healthy posture. The wing design of our GP grips gives the hand more support and automatically puts the wrist into a more ergonomic position, preventing numbness, tingling and pain.
Two sizes – for individualized control
In order to help you maintain perfect control over your bike, your hands should not completely envelop the grip, which is why Ergon offers many grips in two size diameters – Small and Large. The difference refers to the grip width (hand size), meaning a larger hand will have a more positive fit on a thicker grip, while a smaller hand is better fit to a smaller grip. For hand/glove sizes 6.5 to 8.5 we recommend Small, for 8.5 to 10.5 Large usually is better.
Tested back-friendly: Action for healthy backs
Back pain is the number 1 widespread condition. In particular, when this happens during cycling, the joy of riding is diminished. In a lengthy testing procedures by an interdisciplinary panel of experts consisting of doctors, orthopaedists and physiotherapists, the back-friendly effect of the GP5 grip has now been officially confirmed.
Grip rubber Made in Germany
The material used in Ergon grips meets the highest quality purity standards, is TÜV-certified, durable and absolutely unique in the world of cycling grips. Developed using medical grade white oil as the only plasticizer. The UV-resistant rubber compound has been developed and is manufactured exclusively for Ergon in Germany. Ergonomics, product design and engineering – all Made in Germany.
Locked down for safety
The GP Series clamping system is extremely secure and easy to mount. Each grip is tightened with only one bolt to reliably secure its position and to prevent twisting. Another important safety feature is that Ergon’s aluminium clamps are cold forged and not extruded – resulting in a much stronger structure. GP grip versions featuring lightweight bar ends – made of glass-fiber-composite and with grippy rubber inlays – deliver additional hand positions for more comfort.
It’s in the mix
Minimum friction – maximum comfort: Gripping confidence is enhanced with Ergon’s super soft, UV resistant, durable compound and specific texture patterns. Additionally, your riding enjoyment is elevated with a noticeable pleasing to the touch feel.
Fits every type of shifting system
GP Series grips are also available in different versions that are compatible with various types of twist shifters. With standard trigger shifters, both grips have the same length on both sides. For Rohloff®, Nexus® and Single-Twist-Shift the grip is shortened on the right side to accommodate the shifting mechanism.

SIZING INFORMATION
Since hand sizes vary from person to person, these Ergon grips are offered in two sizes; Small and Large.
These sizes refer to the gripping circumference. The large size is a thicker grip, and the small is a thinner grip. Two size options offer better hand closure around the grip surface. These size differences have a direct impact on the overall handling of the bike, as well as comfort.
Size Small – suits a 92mm hand circumference, or a glove size XS-L
Size Large – suits a 102mm hand circumference, or a glove size XL-XXL
